Butte County Offers Free ALERT FM Emergency Receivers to Eligible Rural Residents
Butte County is helping rural residents stay connected during emergencies by offering free ALERT FM receivers to eligible households in select communities.
Residents can apply in person with assistance from Butte County CERT volunteers during scheduled events in Oroville on October 2, November 6, and December 4, 2026. The receivers provide an additional way to receive critical emergency information, including during power outages or when other communication methods may be disrupted.
Free receivers are available on a first-come, first-served basis to qualifying residents in designated rural areas of Butte County.
